Phasing is a REALLY old ability dating all the way back to the Mirage Block. Here's a refresher just in case you don't know:
A permanent with phasing phases in or out before the untap step. a permanent that is phased out is treated as though it is nonexistent. So here's the challenge: Build me a deck that abuses the phasing ability. Here's my version to get you started: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=43603 |

I think the trick here would be to get spells that phase your lands and use landfall abilities. Also have some guys that have an effect that come into play, for example chroma, and then keep phasing them out, and get (almost) endless abilities. That would be the best way to abuse phasing.

Phasing activates "leaves play" abilities, not "comes into play" abilities.
As you'll notice with mine I made it into UB aggro, something that you would not normally expect. It's great for bringing down massive amounts of blockers, even if it is only temporarily. You know, I think that phasing could come back again in some future set as a new overall strategy, maybe bring back the pro-phasing cards back from Mirage and Visions Last edited by whitey_mcfly; 02-10-2010 at 06:09 AM. |

Sucks that phased permanents "remember" themselves, otherwise you could do evil things with planeswalkers...

yeah this is true. sadly the only card in this deck that can even target a planeswalker is vanishing
so you got a deck for me? Last edited by whitey_mcfly; 02-10-2010 at 03:40 PM. |
